1/72 Scale Russian Infantry

Hello comrades, Comissar Alfie here. And today, I brought some 1/72 scale russian infantry, made by revell. So I guess this is a small review! :)

The kit came with approximatley 41 figures. Here is the box art.
The box art is very nice
Here is the back of the box.
Good painting instructions.
Here is the sprue.
Here is the left wing of the figures (above)
Here is the center (above)
Here is the right wing. (above)

Here you can see are the stationary figures, as you can see on the left, there are 4 crouching riflemen, wielding Mosin Nagats I presume. And there are also 4 crouching men with ppsh1's. You can also, see 4 men holding Russian stick grenades. I'm not sure of the proper names for these, there are also 4 men holding what look like pineapple grenades. Now, I didn't think that the Russians used those, but I'm no expert. In the center, you can see two snipers kneeling on walls, there was the option for two, but I used the other two for something else. However I still built one of the sections of wall, I lost one section. You can also see what I can only presume to be a Commissar or commander with some binoculars ( I beleive they were the same thing) and a cartographer holding a map, talking and gesturing. There is also another commissar Pistol held up high, and free hand calling men forward. There is also a female nurse, who is either wounded on the floor, resting or is scared. It's not very clear what she's doing on the floor. There is also a man with a dp 27 if I am correct. So quite a lot of good figures there.

Personally my favourite figure, two men carrying a Russian heavy machine gun ( I'm not sure of the name) they seem to be hurriedly wheeling to a defence line, or pulling it away, retreating hastily, If you wanted you could use the two mean as dead or wounded, and the machine gun as an active gun.

There where also some running men, and there where, for standing straight men running with a ppsh1 and four men hunched over with machine guns, for men quite hunched over with mosin nagats, and 4 men more straight with mosin nagats. And there was one man with a dp 27, theese where my least faviroute, because it was a shame they didn't give more stationary figures. But it makes for a very nice looking charge diorama, if only they gave a flag bearer...

So over-all a very good kit, but could've done with more stationary figures. But anyway, I hope to get some 1/35 scale figures, but at the shop I went two,l they had no zvezda ones, and only very expensive tamiya figs. Goodbye, Hoora!

How To Make An Exploded Oil Canister

Hello comrades, Comissar Alfie here, and I have a small tutorial for you. I'm going to show you how to make this:
                                                                  Into This!
What you need: An empty pepsi can, Plyers, and spray paint(black)
Steo One:Take your pepsi can, and rinse it out thoroughly.
Step Two: Drain out all the water.
Step Three: Remove Ringpull and tap.
Step Four: Proceed to cut up the top with plyers, Bear in mind it will take a while to cut through the rim, as it is quite thick.
Be careful of the top of the can, as the metal will be quite jagged!!!
Also be careful of the metal shavings, they are VERY sharp!
Step Five: Spray black, give two coats for maximum coverage
And your done!!!

Now, this dosen't look THAT good, but it's something I did on a day when I was veryb bored, and is something to do with cans of drink. Also the scale is something to be debated over, it would be a very large oil canister for 1/72cnd scale figures. And a small propane tank for 1/35 and 1/32 scale figures, possibly on it's side other than on its top.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Hoora!

My Plans For The Year

Greeting comrades, Comissar Alfie here.
So my plans for the year... Obviously when I get funds. I'll mainly be collecting 1/32 and 1/35 scale figure, mainly Russians and Germans. And I shall be making Scenic Diorama bases for one or more of the kits to be displayed on. I shall also be collecting Die-cast plastic Land vehichles from the Second World War. Like in the picture below.

This Die-Cast plastic model is a King Tiger, I brought this last year, so I'm not sure of the manufacturer, but in my local shop (wich has a cornucopia of figures and models at very good prices) they had quite alot of theese, from what I could see they All land vehichles, mainly tanks. I hope to buy; A t34 and various other Russian and German land vehichles, and as I said before, making small scenic bases displaying one or more of the kits.
I didn't see any Sea or Air vehichles there, but obviously there will be an abundance of Die-Cast Plastic models fro WW2 put there, so don't fret. Theese were priced at around 5 or 10 pounds each, wich in my opinions is quite nice, the five pound anyway. And they measure approx 4 inches long and 2 and a quater inches wide.

Thats all for now folks, Hoora!
